My school attended Young Voices at Sheffield last night. What a fabulous evening we all had – the place rocked!! Thanks to all the organisers – from everyone at St Nicholas Primary School, Hull
November 25th, 2009 at 2:00 pm
This was our 2nd Young Voices and again it was amazing. Our youngest daughter had the opportunity to be part of the choir this year and she absolutely loved the experience. SHe has recently found her self confidence through music and as well as singing she plays the clarinet and both Descant and Tenor recorder. Although we couldn’t pick her out we feel that this was a valuable experience for her. So much so she is already on her starting blocks for YV 2010. Keep up the good work especially as all the children involved gain so much from and to quote my eldest daughter “It rocks my socks”!!!

I attended Sheffield Arena with my school, Hoylandswaine Primary, near Barnsley and it was a fantastic night!! I’m going again tonight with my son’s school too, Silkstone Primary, near Barnsley. The one thing I noticed was the waiting time from 5.45pm for the children to get into their seats up to 7.15pm the concert start time – perhaps some music or a video screen for the children to watch would be a good idea to help pass the time – after all they’ve worked hard rehearsing all afternoon!! Keep up the good work – can’t wait until next year!
November 26th, 2009 at 11:39 am
This was my first time at Young Voices and what can I say? It was amazing – the kids obviously had the time of their lives and will remember it forever. My daughter was all smiles when I put her to bed (very late!) and was still grinning this morning. Huge thanks to the teachers who organise and coach all the kids and to everyone involved in the concert.

November 28th, 2009 at 2:44 pm
on the 24 of november i performed in the concert at the sheffield arena for the very first time. My dad is a headteacher and I have loved learning the young voices songs with him for a few years now but this was my very first time singing in the concerts with my school – Middlestown Primary School, Wakefield. I was so excited and knew all the words for every song. The band was amazing and I loved singing and dancing right the way through the concert. My favourite song was crazy amazing by VV Brown and we even got her autograph on our school banner. I loved the whole thing and I really hope I can go again next year. Thank you so much to everyone who helped to put the concert on, I will never forget it. Kaytie-Jo Genty
November 28th, 2009 at 2:52 pm
My daughter enjoyed the concert so much on Tuesday that the first thing she checked out online today was the YV website!! her comment above sums up the whole thing and this year was a first for me too as my school were attending the concert on Thursday and so for the first time in 11 years I was a member of the audince for once on the Tuesday night. I have to say that the experience was just as spine tingling and inspiring as it was on Thursday when I was involved with my own choir. As always David had all 5000 children…and teaachers…right in the palm of his hands and the band under the direction of Craig were as amazing as ever… especially as we were sat right behind them this year! I appreciate how much hard work and effort goes into organising somrthing like this and even after bringing a choir to YV for 11 years now, the thrill still gets to me every single time! Thank you YV team and long may this amazing event continue, for the children who attend and for those less fortunate ones who benefit from it. God bless you all. Graeme Genty – Headteacher – St Chad’s Brighouse.

My son and I sang at Sheffield on the 26th November with St. Chad’s Primary and it was the first time at Young Voices for both of us. I knew the experience would be good but it surpassed all my expectations. The whole concert was amazing! The artists and musicians were superb and David Lawrence made the whole day fun and exciting for all the children. I had goose bumps every time I looked around me to see all those children singing together; it was just beautiful and it will be a day I will never forget! Thank you so much to everyone involved in organising this magical event.

December 3rd, 2009 at 10:12 pm
My partner and i came to watch our daughter with her school at the O2 on Wednesday. It was our first time and we both loved it, the atmosphere was electric and we have both agreed we would definately come again next year if we can. We only had one little suggestion and that was for the organisers of the concert to make sure that the schools invited understand they need huge banners as parents what to see where their children are. Trying to spot our daughter was a complete guessing game and neither of us managed it. Thanks Young Voices for a great experience.

January 7th, 2010 at 12:03 am
I took our brilliant primary school choir – The Olive Hill School Choir – to the NIA with my colleagues. The school’s been attending and performing at the concerts since Young Voices started, more than ten years ago…however, it was my first time. What can I say?!? It was awesome! I loved it, our kids loved it, the parent’s loved it…and even my Mum loved it!
Most imporantly, Young Voices has enabled some of the children from our school to experience something truly special and given the incentive to sing…and that’s what it’s all about.
January 7th, 2010 at 5:22 pm
I went for my first time with my choir and it was unbelievable. I think i’m speaking for the whole choir when I say that it was the best and most exciting thing that we have ever done. It was FAB and we hope to go next year! Thanks so much for the whole experience. My parents and Sister went ans=d they said that they had never seen anything like it! The whole thing was amazing, the line up, the dancers, the conducter, the presenter!Words can’t describe how great it was, really!!! Thank You!!!

I went to see my daughter from Woodlands Junior School, Tonbridge on 2nd December at 02 arena. I still can’t believe what a fantastic time we all had. Must admit I wasn’t expecting anything like that it was truly brilliant and VV Brown was very good. Really hope I get to go again. My daughter also had the experience of her life so far and I’d recommend any parent let their child take part. Thank you young voices. xx
