Young Voices Concerts - Guinness World Record Attempts

2008

We intend to make this an extra special attempt that will achieve two World records and involve schools across the country. Keep checking back for more details.

2005

BIGSING

In 2005 we attempted, with the BIGSING event, to smash our previous target of 83,637 set in 2002, by aiming for 1,000,000 voices. The event took place on 9th December 2005 and was led by "Joss Stone, Lemar and Ms. Dynamite" singing live from the "Royal Albert Hall" and transmitted live to schools around the country via local radio stations and a web broadcast.

Although it is too early for ratification of the record attempt by Guinness World Records, early indications show that we have smashed the current record by achieving in excess of 280,000 voices.

2003

In 2003 we were unsuccessful in an attempt to break our existing record .

2002

Having won the award from the Guinness World Records, we were challenged in 2002 to set a new record for the "the largest simultaneous sing-along" - the existing record being approximately 15,500 voices.

We subsequently broke the existing record. The exact number of children to sing simultaneously on Monday 9th December 2002 was 83,637 live with Declan and raised over £42,000 for the national charity "Sargent Cancer Care for Children".

2001

On 28th November 2001 Young Voices Concerts broke the Guinness World Record for the largest choir ever assembled in the UK. There were 6,846 voices involving almost 200 schools from the Greater Manchester Area.
